A; Man and his occupations

The hieroglyphs of Ancient Egypt are often listed in groups of associated glyphs. The following hieroglyphs have been grouped according to the system established by Sir Alan Gardiner (referred to as Gardiner’s sign list). The following hieroglyphs are all depictions of men and their activities. Although these signs depict men, they were also used for women undertaking these tasks. In contrast, list B includes activities only relevant for women.
